How to cancel Spotify Premium in Canada
Short answer: on your Spotify account page, go to Manage your plan, then select Cancel subscription. Premium stays active until your next billing date, then your account switches to the free, ad-supported tier. You keep your playlists and saved music. If your mobile or internet provider bills you for Spotify, cancel with them.
First: who bills you?
| Situation | Where to cancel |
|---|---|
| You pay Spotify directly | spotify.com account page (steps below) |
| There's no option to change your plan | A partner company (for example your mobile or internet provider) bills you. On your account page, go to Manage your plan → Payment to find their contact link |
| Your statement shows Apple or Google Play | Cancel in that store: Apple · Google Play |
| Your account is on Spotify Free but you're still charged | You probably have Premium on a different Spotify account. Log out and try your other login details |

Cancel Spotify Premium (direct billing)
- Sign in to your account page on spotify.com.
- Go to Manage your plan.
- Select Cancel subscription and confirm.
Good to know (same source):
- Premium stays until your next billing date, then the account goes free. You can still log in and listen with ads.
- If you cancel during a $0 free trial, the account switches to free immediately, and a $0 trial can't be reactivated.
- Spotify also offers a cancellation form, linked at the bottom of its help article.
Cancel Spotify Family or Duo
- Plan manager: follow the same steps. Tell everyone first: all members lose Premium from the next payment date, and any managed accounts move to the free plan.
- Plan member: the same steps only remove you from the plan; they don't cancel it. Ask the plan manager to cancel or change the payment method.

| Premium Student | $6.39 | $76.68 | 1 verified student · not available to users in Quebec |

Source: spotify.com/ca-en/premium (loaded from Canada), checked October 28, 2026. When checked, new users who'd never tried Premium could get Individual for $0 for 2 months (offer ending November 1, 2026) and Student for $0 for 1 month. Individual, Duo (manager only) and Family (manager only) include 15 hours a month of audiobook listening.
Live in Quebec? Spotify's own pricing page says the Student plan is "not available to users in Quebec," so Quebec students pay the Individual price. Spotify doesn't give a reason on that page.
Cheaper than cancelling? Two people at one address paying for two Individual plans spend $27.98 a month; Duo is $19.99, so switching saves $95.88 a year before tax.
