How to cancel an Apple subscription (App Store, iPhone, Mac)
Short answer: on an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, tap the subscription, then Cancel Subscription. This covers Apple's own services and any subscription you bought through an app from the App Store. If there's no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red, it's already cancelled.
First: who bills you?
| Situation | Where to cancel |
|---|---|
| Paid with your Apple Account (App Store, Apple Music, iCloud+, etc.) | Your Apple device or account.apple.com (steps below) |
| Bought through your wireless carrier or another provider | That carrier or provider |
| Billed through Google Play (e.g. Apple Music on Android) | Google Play: see our Google Play guide |
| No receipt from Apple | Another company bills you: check your statement and contact it |

Can't find the subscription?
- Search your email for "receipt from Apple" or "invoice from Apple".
- Check which Apple Account is on the receipt:
- A family member's account: ask them to cancel. You can't cancel a family member's subscription.
- Another account you use: sign in to that account and cancel there.
- No Apple receipt at all: another company probably bills you. Your bank or credit card statement shows which one.
Free trial? Apple says to cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends if you don't want it to renew.
Why your statement doesn't show the app's name
App Store subscriptions are billed by Apple, so your statement usually names Apple rather than the app. When you import a statement, Subloupe marks these charges "Billed through Apple" so you know to look in your Apple subscriptions, and you can rename each one once you've checked which app it is.
Find the subscriptions you forgot
Import a bank or credit card statement (CSV, OFX or QFX) into Subloupe to find every recurring charge you're still paying for, including the ones billed through Apple, with what each costs per year. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded. Import and detection are free. No account, no bank login.
Calendar renewal reminders (.ics, for Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook) are a Plus feature in early access, free for everyone now.
Subloupe isn't affiliated with Apple. Steps can change, so always check the official site. Facts checked October 28, 2026.
