How to cancel Netflix in Canada
Short answer: if you pay Netflix directly, go to your Account page, select Manage your membership, then Cancel, then Finish Cancellation. There's no cancellation fee, you keep watching until the end of the billing period you've paid for, and Netflix emails you a confirmation. If a phone, TV or internet provider (or Apple/Google) bills you, cancel with them.
First: who bills you?
Check your card or bank statement, or the Membership section of your Netflix Account page:
| The charge says… | Where to cancel |
|---|---|
| Netflix | netflix.com → Account (steps below) |
| Apple / iTunes | iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions |
| Google Play | Google Play → Subscriptions |
| Your mobile, TV or internet provider | That provider (Netflix says to cancel with the "payment partner") |
If you don't see a cancel option on your Netflix Account page, you're being billed through a partner: Netflix's help page tells you to check the Membership section to see who, and cancel there.

Cancel Netflix on netflix.com (direct billing)
- Sign in on netflix.com and open your Account page.
- Select Manage your membership.
- Select Cancel.
- Select Finish Cancellation.
Netflix sends a confirmation email. Signing out or deleting the app doesn't cancel anything.
Good to know (same source):
- You keep access until the end of your current billing period. Netflix's Terms of Use say payments are non-refundable and there are no refunds or credits for partial periods (to the extent the law allows), so cancel any time before your next charge.
- If you have a gift card or promo balance, you can keep watching until it runs out.
- Netflix keeps your viewing history and profiles for 24 months after you cancel, so you can come back without starting over.
- Worried someone else is using your account? Change your password and tick Sign out of all devices.
Cancel Netflix billed by Apple or Google
- Apple (iPhone/iPad): Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Netflix → Cancel Subscription. If there's no Cancel button, it's already cancelled. (Apple Support)
- Google Play: go to Subscriptions in Google Play → Netflix → Cancel subscription. Uninstalling the app doesn't cancel. (Google Play Help)
Moving Netflix into a TV or phone package?
If you're switching to a package that includes Netflix, Netflix says to link your existing account to the package instead of cancelling. Netflix then stops billing you directly, and you keep your profiles. Cancelling first isn't needed.
Pause instead of cancel
Some members can pause instead: one month at a time, up to three months in total. Pausing isn't available on every plan or payment method (Netflix lists Basic, direct debit, gift cards and some partners as exceptions). If you see the option on your Account page, you can extend the pause or unpause there. (Netflix Help)
How much does Netflix cost in Canada in 2026?
| Plan | Monthly (CAD, before tax) | Per year at that rate | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard with ads | $7.99 | $95.88 | Ads, 2 screens at once, up to 1080p, downloads on 2 devices, some titles unavailable |
| Standard | $18.99 | $227.88 | No ads, 2 screens, up to 1080p, can add 1 extra member |
| Premium | $23.99 | $287.88 | No ads, 4 screens, up to 4K + HDR, downloads on 6 devices, up to 2 extra members, spatial audio |
Sources: prices from netflix.com/ca (loaded from Canada), plan details from Netflix Help, "Plans and pricing", checked October 28, 2026. Netflix bills monthly on your sign-up date; it has no annual plan, and taxes are extra. The Basic plan is no longer offered to new members. I couldn't confirm the Canadian price of an "extra member" slot on an official page, so it's left out.
Cheaper than cancelling? Going from Premium ($23.99) to Standard with ads ($7.99) saves $192 a year before tax ($16.00 × 12).
