How to download your Desjardins (AccèsD) transactions as a file
Short answer: In AccèsD on a computer, select Search transactions, then the download your transaction history link. Pick a period, tick your accounts or credit cards, choose CSV or OFX, and select Download. Desjardins says you can download up to three months at a time. Subloupe has a built-in preset for Desjardins files.
Before you start
- Use a computer. Desjardins documents the download in AccèsD on the web. We couldn't confirm the same option in the mobile app, so use a computer browser. Mobile banking apps often can't export transactions.
- You need a CSV, OFX or QFX file, not a PDF. Subloupe can't read PDF statements.
- One file per account or card is fine. You can import several files at once.
Download your transactions in AccèsD
These steps come from Desjardins' own help page (see sources below).
- Log in to AccèsD in a web browser on a computer.
- From the options at the top of the main page, select Search transactions.
- Select the blue download your transaction history link.
- On the Download transaction history page, select a period.
- Select the accounts or credit cards you want, then choose a file format: CSV or OFX.
- Select Download.
Desjardins describes this screen for both accounts and credit cards, so you can download your chequing account and your Desjardins card in one go.
Which format to choose
| Format | Use it? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| CSV | Yes, recommended | Subloupe has a built-in Desjardins preset, so the columns are recognized for you, even though the file has no header row |
| OFX | Yes | Read directly, like OFX files from any bank |
| PDF statement (Statements tab) | No | PDF statements can't be read. Use the transaction download above instead |
How far back can you go?
Desjardins says you can download up to three months of transaction history. Your monthly PDF statements are kept for seven years, but Subloupe can't read PDFs.
One month of statements is enough to start; add more months to catch yearly renewals. If your bank limits each download, save several files that cover consecutive periods and import them together. A few days of overlap between files is fine.
Import the file into Subloupe
- Open the statement import.
- Drop your file or files, or choose them. Your browser reads them on this device: nothing is uploaded, and Subloupe never asks for your bank login.
- The Desjardins preset recognizes AccèsD CSV files automatically. OFX files are read directly too.
- Select Add to dashboard to review. Nothing is decided in the import window: what it found appears on your dashboard under To review. For each charge, choose Keep, Not a subscription, Pause, Cancel it or Delete, or use Review all to Confirm all or Dismiss all at once. Phone, internet and energy bills are grouped under Bills and are only added if you tick them.
If something goes wrong
- "PDF statements can't be read": go back to online banking and download the transactions as CSV, OFX or QFX instead.
- "No transactions found in this file": check that the period you picked has transactions, or try the other format.
- Dates or amounts look wrong: import the original file, not a copy you opened and saved in a spreadsheet app, which can change dates. If you're asked to pick columns, choose the date, description and amount.
FAQ
Is the CSV the same as my monthly statement? No. Your monthly statement is a PDF in the Statements tab. The CSV is a list of transactions for the period you pick, and that's what Subloupe needs.
Can I download my Desjardins credit card too? Yes. Desjardins' instructions say to select the accounts or credit cards you want on the same page.
Is it safe to import my bank statement? The file is read in your browser and never uploaded. Only what it finds is saved, in your browser, for you to review; the file and its transactions are discarded. You never share your bank password.
